I  earned my bachelor's degree in Economics from University of Dhaka. I moved to Canada in 2010 and completed my masters in Economics from York University, Toronto. I loved Economics and decided to pursue a PhD. I moved to Calgary and obtained a PhD in Economics from University of Calgary, specializing in environmental, natural resources, and agricultural economics in 2017. Alberta's beautiful landscape and the rocky mountains influenced me and my research agendas a lot. I worked for industry for a year after my PhD; I must say this was an awesome experience since it honed my coding and modeling skills.

I live with my husband, Mushfiq, and our son, Rishad. Besides research and teaching, I enjoy playing with my son and spending time with my family.
